Free and Open Source Software & Open Educational Resources

FAIR believes that the components of ICT in education should be free to copy and adapt, and that licenses and commercial interests impose limitations, replacing freedom and opportunity with power structures and dependency. We believe that the current development shows that openly licensed resources - both for education, research and software - are becoming predominant, not least accelerating educational quality and technological innovation.

FAIR does not seek to extend foreign commercial interests into the educational sector of an engaged country, acknowledging the sensitivity of adapting future generations to specific technologies.
