Some 10 km from Mzuzu University down the main road, M1, is Ekwedeni. It was setup in 2015 by staff of Mzuzu University, now part of tMinds.

Ekwedeni is a Community Day Secondary School (CDSS).

The centre was equipped with 30 laptops. It has been troubled with a bit of theft, but as of late 2017, it is back on track and scheduled for a maintenance visit in the near future.

The school is home to 1,200 students. In early 2017 they had just 2 teachers handling Computer Studies, both newcomers at the school and new to teaching with an ICT centre.
